Concerts In The Keys is a house concert series staged on Big Pine Key, Florida.
What is a house concert? Well, it is a musical concert staged in a private residence. The setting is intimate and offers an opportunity to see a performer without the distractions of a large venue or bar. Those who attend house concerts generally do so for the opportunity to listen to and see the performer up close.
Generally, each concert will consist of two sets of music each from 50 to 60 minutes in duration with an intermission between them of 15-20 minutes. During intermission complimentary light refreshments and non alcoholic beverages are offered. Guests are invited to bring their own alcoholic beverages so long as they do so responsibly. Concerts will begin at 7:00pm and should conclude by 9:30pm, however, the possibility of festivities or a jam session after the conclusion of the concert is never ruled out!
A wide variety of artists will be presented for your entertainment. Singer/songwriters, Folk, Blues, Country, Celtic, Jazz and many who cross so many lines that they defy definition. The size of our venue limits us to solo, duet and trio acts. The artists we will be presenting are established touring professionals. The music is acoustic but not limited to specific instruments.
All proceeds from the concert go to the performing artist. A suggested minimum donation of $10 to $20 per person and $5 for children under 12, is requested at the door. Prices on CD's and other artist product are determined by the individual artist.
Attendance at a Concerts in the Keys event is by invitation, that is to say you need to be on our guest list. We do not advertise to the general public and reserve the right to refuse admittance to anyone. We do encourage you to tell those you know who enjoy this type of musical opportunity about the series. Our listening room seats 40 inside and an additional 10-15 outside. Since our seating is limited, we request that our guests call or email to confirm that they plan to attend a specific event and the number in their party.
Again we encourage you to tell your friends about us and to bring guests to these concerts.
Check the Schedule page for upcoming concerts and the Performers Bio page for information on each of our performers.
